![]() ![]() We have stayed in lots of cabins elsewhere and would give these a B or B+.Based on my experience, I will definitely return! The Service at the Log Cabin Motor Court was very informative, helpful and friendly! We stayed in Cabin 15 "The Hill Billy" and it was a rustically cozy and cute delight! Asheville is a quite, beautiful area with many sites to see/experience. There was no maid service for our 2 night stay. Be aware that some of the cabins appear to have beds positioned right up against a wall, making it hard for a couple because getting out of that side of the bed at night is difficult. ![]() The room we had was small but OK – we did have to coordinate our movements at times. The full size refrigerator in the kitchen was slightly loud. WIFi was weak and sporadic but usually worked and the TV had cable with lots of good channels. ![]() Power wiring is, well, creative, so don’t expect too many outlets. There is plenty of room heat and an effective although somewhat loud window AC. This arrangement also means a step down into the bathroom, which can be a surprise in the middle of the night. In our unit, the entire bathroom was also the floor of the shower although there was a curtain, the floor gets pretty wet. Although our cabin could have used some maintenance on the outside, the inside was incredibly clean – and also straight out of 1930. The cabins are pretty well packed into a relatively small lot so parking can be a little tight for some units and you will definitely want to close the curtains before dressing. The road noise won’t disturb sleep but sitting outside isn’t like being in the wilderness. The location is in a small woods wedged between a busy 2 lane local highway and a larger divided highway. There are some things you should know before you go. If you enjoy staying in a rustic cabin, these will probably not disappoint. The cabins are almost exactly as shown on the web site. I believe they were built in 1929 and maintained well. Yes, I would come back again. As I said - this is rustic but it's clean - if you need posh - then you won't appreciate these cabins. We did not use the Wifi but we had excellent service with Verizon. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do - Ingles grocery store not far up the road & plenty of restaurants of course. This was the best deal of all the places we saw that were similar. Full refrigerator - everything you need if you cook in to save money. We had a stove with an oven that set off the fire alarm with nothing in it! We just fanned the alarm with the door open until it passed - there is no vent fan. The kitchen was fully stocked for meal preparation. Even though it was May - it was 50's during the day - we had heat with a portable heater for the kitchen and the main heater was in the bedroom - that is a bit loud when it kicks in though. If weather is on the cool side - slippers rather then socks to. You will need to bring extra power strip for your electronics and a night light for the bathroom is handy to have. It rained our 3 days there so we appreciated the cabins but unfortunately it was too wet to sit on the porch on the provided rocking chairs. Check in & out was a breeze and little that we saw of management they were very nice. Though we were in Cabin 1 which is near the Weaversville road there was a barrier that blocked out traffic noise and the bedroom was in the back so we didn't hear the traffic. We had a stove with an oven that set off the fire alarm with nothing in it! We just fanned the alarm with the door open until it passed - there is no vent fan.įull refrigerator - everything you need if you cook in to save money. ![]()
